Dermatologists confirm the need to take a break from the skin care routine

Skin care routine, with all scrubs, face masks and moisturizers, the benefits of not using it for a while may be less obvious. You may be afraid that your skin will not look new, or that there will be acne breakouts.
Don't worry - it's natural to let your skin breathe and rest, says Michelle Green.

Without using the products, oxygen will reach your skin, which will help it regenerate elastin and collagen.
Our skin also produces a substance called sebum. And while it may make your skin look oily, there are also some positive sides to it.
Sebum acts as a barrier against microorganisms and helps keep your skin hydrated. So it is a good idea to let your skin do it on its own from time to time, without having an extra layer of some product on it.

When you use a moisturizer, your skin becomes moisture and stops producing on its own, which can make the skin dry, says clinical cosmetologist Kate Care. Some skin products also contain harsh ingredients that can damage healthy fats on your skin. You don't have to say no to all skin care products, you can give your skin a break from a few of them. And if you decide to do a full fasting of the skin, since you do not use any moisturizers, this is not recommended for more than a day or two.

It's a good idea to take a break from your skin care routine if you notice irritation from some skin care products, or if you don't know exactly what causes irritation.
It can help you stop using all of your products and then start adding them again one by one, says Morgan Rabach, MD. Although it indicates that it is still important to wash your face in the morning and at night to keep it clean.

For acne sufferers, it may be better to continue their routine, otherwise their pores can be very clogged. People with certain skin conditions, such as eczema and flaky skin, should also avoid fasting the skin.   And if you feel your skin is working fine, then you should not perform skin fasting. Although it is good to know that if you skip a day or two, there may be no reason to panic, because your skin will not necessarily behave. This break is best suited for people with delicate and sensitive skin prone to irritation.
Perhaps you will realize that you do not need to use all the products that you have, or that you can buy them less.
